Chan graduated from the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts and majored in Ruan and Liuqin. She earned the Diploma in Performing Arts (Music), the Bachelor Degree of Music (Honours) and the Master of Music Degree.
She started learning Zhongruan at Music Office, where she has been coached by Ms. Zhang Yan-ru and Ms. Fong Ka-po, and later being coached by renowned Yueqin and Zhongruan performer, Professor Lui Kwan-on.
During her study, she has been awarded scholarships for her excellent academic performance, such as the the Musicus Society Trey LeeScholarships, First Initiative Foundation Scholarship, etc. In 2011, she and her friends formed “4x4 Plucked”, which was selected as the 2011 RTHK Young Music Makers, and participated in the recording of radio and television programme and performance. She is now the Resident Musician at the Windpipe Chinese Music Ensemble, Music Office Part-time Instructor and Part-time Performer.
